It’s hoped a potential new venture for the 2013 and 2015 Central Highlands Business of the Year will inspire other local operators to broaden their horizons. Emerald-based engineering firm H.E.M.E. is in line to become a supplier to German submarine manufacturer ThyssenKrupp, should it be chosen to build Australia’s next generation of subs. “This pro-active approach towards growing its business and exploring new opportunities is part of the reason H.E.M.E. has made it two in a row at the Central Highlands Business Excellence Awards,” CHDC General Manager Sandra Hobbs says.
